[Michael]

Michael Tillman, JD

Michael practiced estate planning and tax law for over twenty years. Recognizing the need of his estate planning clients for sound investment management, he and Michael T. Hartley founded Tillman Hartley LLC in 1998 as a federally registered investment advisor with over $25,000,000 under management. He was introduced to economics professors Eugene Fama at University of Chicago and Ken French, now at Dartmouth, whose academic research in financial economics influenced his investment management style.

Michael is a co-founder and past President of the Gainesville Community Foundation, co-author of Generations—Planning Your Legacy, former contributing reviewer of Conspectus Current, and holds the Series 65 license (Investment Advisor).

Michael received his undergraduate degree from Harvard, and his law degree from the University of Florida. He is a graduate of Advanced Studies for Estate and Wealth Planning, Esperti Peterson Institute, 1998, and a former Fellow of the Esperti Peterson Institute and The Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University.

He has two daughters, Leah and Claire. His interests include T'ai Chi Chuan, Hawaiian Swimming®, and triathlons.


[Kevin]

Kevin Schwall, CFA

Kevin joined Tillman Hartley in 2007 as an Investment Manager. He brings additional technical expertise to all aspects of the firm's investment activities including asset allocation, manager selection and monitoring, and portfolio construction methodology.

Prior to joining Tillman Hartley, Kevin was a Professional Engineer and he has served as an officer in the United States Army, leaving the service as a Captain.

Kevin holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from Duke University. Kevin maintains the Series 65 license (Investment Advisor).

Kevin lives in Colorado and enjoys hiking, skiing, and travelling with his wife and two children.


[Mike]

Mike Lambert

Mike has been working with Michael Tillman since 1994 as a programmer and network administrator. During this time he has designed income and estate tax models, worked on investment portfolio policy creation and account management, managed in-house software development, and maintained email and document control. He was the Wealth Strategies Design System software project manager. Mike manages systems integration, and hardware and software operations for Tillman Hartley LLC.

Mike has 25 years experience in the information technology and financial industries. He was a computer programmer and computer systems analyst for the University of Florida's Department of Student Financial Affairs office from 1984 to 1991.

Mike's interests include Scrabble and disassembling antique Macintosh computers.


[Gary]

Gary Lutes

Gary joined Tillman Hartley in 2004 to help further development of the company's estate planning software. His analytical abilities and exceptional eye for detail have made Gary invaluable in the areas of portfolio design, analysis, and client service. Previously Gary provided customized technical support and customer services for a global business-to-business software services provider.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of South Florida and is currently a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level III candidate. Gary maintains the Series 65 license (Investment Advisor).

Gary enjoys spending time hiking Paynes Prairie with his wife and son.


Tim Deardourff

Tim joined Tillman Hartley in 2011 as Marketing Director and Finance Manager. His finance experience includes internships with Port Financial Group in Cambridge, MA, and Lloyd George Management in Hong Kong, China, and a three year tenure as an Investment Banking Analyst with Raymond James in its Financial Institutions Group.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Harvard University where he was a four-year letterman on the Harvard Varsity Golf Team and also holds a diploma in Guitar from The Institute of Contemporary Music, London (UK) and dual Master's degrees in International Business and Public Relations from the University of Florida.

His passions include golf, writing and live music performance.

Michael T. Hartley, CFP, AAMS

Michael T. Hartley is a co-founder and former manager of Tillman Hartley LLC. He is also the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Dale K. Ehrhart, Inc. and a principal of Transition Dynamics Inc. He frequently works as part of collegial teams that provide sophisticated estate, tax, and investment planning, as well as family office services to some of America's wealthiest families. In addition to his executive duties, Mr. Hartley is involved on a day to day basis with portfolio design and other forms of sophisticated investment planning.

Mr. Hartley is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the National Committee on Planned Giving, The Family Firm Institute (FFI), Attorneys for Family Held Enterprises (AFHE), and the Family Business Network (FBN). He is co-author of "Master Plan: Integrating Your Financial Planning, Legal and Estate Planning and Life Planning" a book intended to help families manage all three forms of wealth—their financial, social and human capital. Mike speaks internationally on investment topics, team systems and managing change.
